Jeroen Lutters is a professor in Art education as Critical Tactics (AecT). With a team of researchers he tries to develop a relevant theory of creativity. They design radical educational experiments, such as No School, Create Space and Hybrid House. Being interested in both theory and practice, they want to ensure that their designs have real impact. They always monitor and adjust their experiments in cooperation with participants. Society is storytelling. Experiments are connected in a cross-educational landscape.
Starting from seaweed as an industry, we will question existing practices of agriculture development in the Netherlands. We show how seaweed can be an alternative to soy and meat. Technically we can start large scale production. Still, that is not sufficient. We need a cultural twist. Art Research can help. In a double presentation we will help start a conversation on developing a fair new agricultural chain and a new narrative of the Netherlands as a nation for producing oysters, mussels, and seaweed.
