Peter Sonderen is a professor of Theory in the Arts and head of the Honours Programme Theory and Research, ArtEZ University of the Arts (Arnhem, Enschede, Zwolle). He is an art historian and philosopher. Sonderen’s current research circles around the basics of artistic research, the theories of making (in the arts), performativity and the question of new materialism in the arts.
There is frictions and tension between food and the perception of food. How do we see food, how do we come across food, how does food communicate itself, what do we experience as food, why do we call something food? What does food do to our communality? Why are Dutch supermarkets obliged to put their organic food in plastic? Food and strangeness are connected. Let’s talk about it.
